Clark Kellogg weighs in on Fredette, Ohio State, NBA trades
CBS analyst Clark Kellogg joined the guest hosts Seth Davis and Chris Mannix to talk about the big stories in college basketball and the NBA.
Kellogg is calling BYU-San Diego State this weekend and wants to hold off on a full-fledged evaluation of Jimmer Fredette. But he likes what he’s seen of the BYU star so far.
Kellogg said that he likes to wait to see the whole class before making judgments on the upcoming draft. But he pointed out there are a lot of guys from small schools that will emerge. Or guys on medium schools who don’t get a lot of attention — like Wesley Matthews out of Marquette. “It’s far more art than science,” Kellogg said.
Kellogg also weighed in on his alma mater Ohio State. Davis asked about the Buckeyes using a seven-man rotation. Kellogg said the only problem with that is foul trouble — not fatigue.
Kellogg also weighed in on the big NBA trades. He can see why people are concerned about a big-market, small-market split. But he thinks that small-market teams can still make noise in today’s NBA.
