Rich Eisen talks about Cam Newton at NFL Scouting Combine
NFL Network and podcast host Rich Eisen joined the show to talk about the Scouting Combine.
Eisen said that Cam Newton will throw at the combine, which is somewhat unusual for a big prospect. He said quarterbacks don’t like to throw there because they don’t know the receivers. And Newton will have to handle a lot during the interview process.
Eisen said the combine still matters, and pointed to several players who raised their stock in Indy — Vernon Davis and Dustin Keller for example. “Players can make a ton of money,” Eisen said.
Eisen will run his annual 40-yard dash at the Combine on Monday. He waits until Deion Sanders arrives on set, because Sanders set the standard for 40-yard dashes: “He kept running through the tunnel to a waiting car that took him to the airport,” Eisen said.
