Thad Matta on Jared Sullinger, wide-open Tourney, one-and-done
Ohio State coach Thad Matta joined guests hosts Seth Davis and Chris Mannix to discuss his team and their Tournament future.
Matta had great things to say about his star Jared Sullinger. “He has a great basketball IQ. His demeanor on the floor is incredible,” Matta said.
Matta also talked about the Buckeyes staying undefeated so long. He said that in today’s game, we likely won’t have an undefeated team. “With the three-point line it’s harder to go undefeated,” Matta said.
Matta said that he does believe there are a lot of teams that have a shot to win the title this season.
Matta had interesting comments on one-and-done. “I don’t know what’s right,” Matta said. He thinks that both sides have validity in their arguments. He doesn’t like stopping players from making money. He wishes it could be at least two years.
Matta said that Sullinger has said he wants to come back to Ohio State. “He loves the Ohio State University,” Matta said. “Obviously we have a spot for him if he wants to come back.”
