Byron Scott on Cavs’ struggles, why he took job

Byron ScottCleveland Cavaliers coach Byron Scott joined the show to talk about his team’s struggles this season.

Scott said he’s been through a rebuilding process, but it’s tough. “Losing is not something I get used to,” Scott said.

Scott did note how young his team is, and he said that helps keep him grounded. “We have six rookies on our team, and that’s probably unheard of,” Scott said.

Scott also talked about his mindset before he got there. “I didn’t know at that particular time what LeBron was going to do. You had to look at both scenarios,” Scott said.

He said he hoped LeBron would stay, but he didn’t think the other option was that bad because it’s a first-class organization.

Scott also talked about why he didn’t wait for the Lakers head-coaching position to open up. “There’s no guarantee I got the job,” Scott said.

And Scott said he’s very happy to be in Cleveland and he thinks that the future is bright.

On a side note, Scott said he can still dunk, and plans to do it in three weeks on his 50th birthday.
