John Smoltz on Red Sox, NL East, brackets

MLB Network host John Smoltz joined the show to talk about the upcoming season and explain why his bracket isn’t in.

Dan asked Smoltz what team has stood out so far this Spring. He said the Boston Red Sox are the most complete team he’s seen.

Dan asked who he likes in the World Series. “I gotta go with whoever wins the All-Star Game,” Smoltz said, with a smirk. He hates that the All-Star Game determines who has homefield in the World Series.

Smoltz said the Braves and Marlins are going to challenge the Phillies in the NL East.

Smoltz also said that he thinks the San Francisco Giants have a definite chance to repeat. He said people are forgetting about that pitching staff even though they won the World Series.

Smoltz also explained why his bracket isn’t in the celebrity challenge. He said he faxed it, but there was some confusion.
