Troy Polamalu talks about lockout, rule changes

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu joined the show to talk about the lockout and more.

Polamalu is hanging out with the Minnesota Twins today. He said he’s “looking for work.” But he did say he’s not that great at baseball. Dan was concerned about how the hair would look under the helmet.

Dan asked Polamalu about some of the NFL’s recent moves for player safety.

“The nature of the game is that it is a very violent game,” Polamalu said. “You can only do so much without messing with the true essence of the game.”

Polamalu said the frustrating part for him is the NFL isn’t approaching the players before putting in new rules. “We take all the licks, we should have a majority of the say,” Polamalu said.

Polamalu talked candidly about how tough it was losing the Super Bowl to the Packers. Polamalu said it was a long year, and his team faced a lot of things outside of football. They had to overcome a lot.

Polamalu confirmed he is invited to Ben Roethlisberger’s wedding.
