Al Leiter talks about teams manipulating pitch speeds in stadiums
MLB Network’s Al Leiter joined the show to talk about the big storylines around the league early in the season.
Leiter said that you can’t trust the pitch speeds in the stadium, and that’s why the Yankees had a guy giving signals in the stands with their pitch speed.
Leiter said that all the teams manipulate the guns to create an effect and sometimes to help the pitcher — “especially with an insecure pitcher who cares how hard he’s throwing.”
Leiter also weighed in on opening weekend. He said don’t read too much into the first three games. It’s just three games.
