Shane Battier talks about hitting game-winner, having baby at same time
Memphis Grizzlies forward Shane Battier joined the show to talk about the day his daughter was born and he hit a game-winning shot against the Spurs.
Battier said his wife was watching Game 1 of the Grizzlies-Spurs series. With about seven minutes left, she got up to go to the bathroom and realized that she needed to go to the hospital.
Battier said he hit his big three-pointer to help Memphis beat San Antonio. He’s in the locker room celebrating his win when someone told him his wife was in hospital. Turned out the baby had come out and was healthy and looking good.
Dan asked if he will have Duke colors or Memphis colors in the nursery. “Duke is forever,” Battier said. “Duke is my legacy. When I’m old fat and gray, people will remember me for my Duke career.”
