Greg McElroy evaluates Alabama players, QBs in Draft
Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy joined the show to share his impression on last night’s NFL Draft.
McElroy thinks that the Falcons were smart to trade up for Julio Jones because he’s legit. “What I love about [Jones] is he’s not a ‘me-first’ kind of guy, and that’s rare at wide receiver,” McElroy said.
McElroy said that if he had to guess, Christian Ponder will be likely to start before all the other rookie QBs because of the situation in Minnesota.

2. Blaine Gabbert
3. Jake Locker
4. Ryan Mallett
McElroy said he’s known Mallett since his junior year in high school and thinks the character questions won’t be a problem. “He’s physically impressive as anyone in the draft,” McElroy said of Mallett.
