Amar’e Stoudemire says he’s rooting for Mavs, comments on what Knicks need

New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire joined the show to talk about the NBA Finals and much more.

Stoudemire is on the set of Entourage and said he has acting skills, even though the other guys may not feel that way. Stoudemire also said that the actors think they can play — but he’s not so sure.

Dan asked him who he wants to win the Finals. “I’m going for Dallas,” Stoudemire said. His reason is that he wants Carmelo Anthony to win a title before LeBron James.

Stoudemire did say that Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki is unstoppable, because he’s 7-foot-1 and he’s fading away, so it’s impossible to get to his shot.

Stoudemire talked about what happened when he was in Phoenix and the Suns almost traded him to Cleveland. Stoudemire said he knew it was close because then-GM Steve Kerr kept him informed through every step. Stoudemire said that the Cavs would have been better with him.

Stoudemire talked about the state of the Knicks. He did agree with Dan that the Knicks could use a bit of youth in the backcourt to keep up with some of the younger guards around the league.
