Brian Cardinal talks about how Mavs slowed down LeBron

Dallas Mavericks forward Brian Cardinal joined guest host Chris Mannix to share his experience winning the NBA championship.

Mannix asked Cardinal if he’s slept. “We have, just for a few minutes of sleep,” Cardinal said. “To be able to win it. Then be able to celebrate in South Beach. And then to be able to bring it home.”

Cardinal talked about how the Mavs slowed down the Heat. He said the key was limiting their turnovers so the Heat couldn’t get out in transition. Cardinal also said that Jason Terry did a great job making LeBron work on defense, which had to wear him down.

Cardinal said that one of the weird parts of the series was having so many people rooting for them to beat the Heat, which actually leads to pressure.

Cardinal talked about what Mark Cuban might do instead of rings. He suggested an “anklet.”
