Mannix: Jimmer Fredette good fit with Kings
SI.com’s Chris Mannix joined the show to talk about last night’s NBA Draft.
— Mannix thinks Jimmer Fredette will do well in Sacramento and is a good fit with Tyreke Evans. But Mannix isn’t sure why the Kings took John Salmons and his contract back.
— Mannix isn’t sure the Charlotte Bobcats are doing. He said he thinks Kemba Walker may be duplicative of D.J. Augustin, and it took the Bobcats a long time to rebuild Augustin’s confidence.
— Mannix explained that Texas big man Tristan Thompson had some great workouts and isn’t that surprised he went as high as No. 4 to the Cavaliers. Mannix doesn’t think Cavs owner Dan Gilbert has patience to wait for Jonas Valanciunas, who won’t get out of his overseas contract immediately.
— Mannix said that the Timberwolves are a bit lost. They keep collecting future assets, but they don’t have a future right now.
— Mannix thinks Minnesota guard Ricky Rubio will be an All-Star within three years.
— Mannix thinks a lengthy lockout is coming. He said the sides are “canyons” apart.
