Florio: Goodell, Smith relationship will lead to NFL peace

Profootballtalk’s Mike Florio joined the show to talk about the news that Commissioner Roger Goodell will speak at the NFLPA rookie symposium and more.

Florio said that Goodell and DeMaurice Smith flying to the NFLPA rookie symposium on the same plane is a good sign. “It was critical Roger Goodell and DeMaurice Smith have a relationship of trust and friendship,” Florio said.

Florio said that there are still short-term issues, but the new relationship between Goodell and Smith is a good sign for the future.

Florio said that he thinks there is a team that will try to “rent” Terrell Owens for a season. Florio said that T.O. can’t ruin a team in a season.

Florio also talked about the financial problems that players have. He said that teams do have financial advisors. But players are much more focused on the present.
