Shannon Sharpe says teams too excited about unproven QBs
CBS NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe joined the show to talk about free agency and more.
Sharpe agreed with Dan that the QB hysteria is a bit much right now in the NFL. Sharpe in particular doesn’t understand what people see in Kevin Kolb. Sharpe said Kolb is not Tom Brady, so why all the hype?
Sharpe also commented on Tim Tebow. “John believes this guy can win not just regular-season games … John believes this guy can win in the playoffs,” Sharpe said.
Sharpe said that Orton will throw for a lot of yards, but he won’t win games for you. And Sharpe said that when plays break down, Orton can’t do much.
Sharpe thinks the biggest overall move might be whenever cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha makes a decision — especially if he signs with the Jets.
“When you get these two guys, you got Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson when they first got to Arizona,” Sharpe said. He said Revis and Asomugha would compete with each other on a week-to-week basis.
