Josh Hamilton talks about emotional roller coaster this season

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton joined the show to talk about his season and much more.

Dan asked how he would describe this season. “Mixed bag of emotions,” Hamilton said. “Injury at the beginning of the season. To the incident with the fan. To us being in first place. And not really playing on a consistent basis how we’re capable of playing.”

Hamilton talked about his reaction after the fan fell to his death after Hamilton tossed a ball into the stands. Dan asked his initial reaction. “In shock,” Hamilton said. “I couldn’t believe what I just saw.” Hamilton said that he felt helpless when it happened.

Dan asked if he was keeping tabs on Cliff Lee. Hamilton said not really. Dan asked if they face in the World Series, how would he approach Lee. “The biggest thing is you go after him early,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton talked about the average speed you see. He said he sees a lot of 94 mph. It gets hard when it gets up into the high 90s.

Dan asked Hamilton if there’s one guy who shows off his guns the most. He said Adrian Beltre, who intentionally wears “smediums.”
