Red Sox insider said Francona parting not really mutual
Comcast SportsNet New England’s Jessica Moran joined the show to talk about the Red Sox parting ways with Terry Francona.
Moran said that they’ll try to portray it like it’s a mutual parting. But it’s not. If the Red Sox offered to pick up his option, Francona would have probably stayed.
Moran said that ownership is disappointed with Francona letting the clubhouse getting too loose this season. “They did not think he did his best this year,” Moran said.
Moran weighed in on who the Red Sox will hire next. “My sources say they do not want a high-profile guy,” Moran said. She thinks that the Red Sox want a guy who will do what the front office wants.
