Jimmy Johnson explains source of Romo’s issues, why teams can’t stop Calvin Johnson

FOX’s Jimmy Johnson joined the show to talk about the big stories in the NFL and more.

Johnson had interesting comments on why Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is so up and down.

“The problem with Tony is how he came up,” Johnson said. “He wasn’t drafted. He was on the taxi squad. I used to tell our scout team quarterbacks to throw it into coverage. That’s about how he plays.”

Johnson said teams need a running attack to tuck the ball away and put the game away — Johnson pointed to the Buccaneers. The Cowboys can’t do that right now.

“If you’re going to win a championship, there’s going to be times you’re going to have to run the football,” Johnson said.

Dan asked Johnson who is the best receiver in the NFL. Johnson said the Lions’ Calvin Johnson. He likes Andre Johnson as well, but Megatron is impossible to stop right now because he’s an impossible matchup. “He’s just a much more talented, faster tight end,” Johnson said. “Even if you have him double-covered, you don’t have him covered.”
