Tony Dungy: Luck as NFL-ready as any QB since Peyton; Rodgers best QB in league
NBC NFL analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the big stories around the league.
— Dungy is very impressed with Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck: “I don’t think anybody was as ready as Peyton Manning to come into the NFL, but Andrew Luck is right there.”
— Dungy reiterated he’d take Aaron Rodgers over any other quarterback in the NFL. Dungy said last night’s win over Atlanta really impressed him because he was challenged so much in the first half. Dungy said that Rodgers’ ability to run really distinguishes him among elite quarterbacks.
— Dan asked Dungy what’s wrong with the Philadelphia Eagles. “It’s fundamentals,” Dungy said. “They’re making the spectacular plays, but they’re not making the fundamental plays.” But Dungy said don’t count the Eagles out of the playoff race, because no one looks overly impressive in the NFC East.
— Dungy thinks that the Broncos should turn to Tim Tebow. Dungy noted that the team had a lot more energy when Tebow came in.
