Kaplan: Cubs owner Ricketts wooed Theo Epstein to Chicago
Comcast SportNet Chicago host Dave Kaplan joined the show to talk about the Cubs hiring Theo Epstein.
Kaplan said that owner Tom Ricketts brought Theo in and wowed him with his vision of the team. Ricketts is going to let Theo run everything baseball-oriented and he won’t have to take care of the business.
Kaplan said that he doesn’t expect Mike Quade will be the manager next season. He said there isn’t enough accountability in that locker room with some of the perpetually disgruntled players.
Kaplan said that you can turn around the Cubs pretty quickly because it’s such an attractive situation. Kaplan noticed family men can play day games and spend nights with their families.
