Tony Siragusa says NFL officials are penalizing ‘good tackles’

FOX NFL analyst Tony Siragusa joined the show to talk about the big storylines around the league.

Siragusa has a big issue with the NFL penalizing “good tackles.” “If you want to put NFL players in bubble wrap, so they bounce off each other, you’re going to change the game,” Siragusa said. He thinks defensive players hesitating is helping offenses put up big numbers.

Siragusa said he’s talked to officials and they said the league is asking them to enforce safety. Goose said start with low blocks if you’re really interested in safety.

One issue Siragusa had was Brian Robison’s cup check on T.J. Lang. Goose said Ward should be suspended for hitting below the belt.

Siragusa just worked the Bears-Bucs game in London. He said it was great. The field was in good condition and fans were excited, albeit a bit confused. He doesn’t think London will get a fulltime team. He said they can’t go play a team like Seattle or other West Coast teams.

Goose also weighed in on Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte and his contract situation. “I think they should go and give him some money,” Siragusa said. “He’s been running unbelievably. He’s a huge part of what they do on offense.”
