Chris Mannix explains why tide has turned in NBA labor talks

SI.com’s Chris Mannix joined the show to talk about the NBA Lockout and why we have optimism.

Mannix said that there won’t be a final deal today, but they’re getting close. Mannix said they realized what was at stake. “Losing the season could be catastrophic for both sides,” Mannix said.

Mannix said that the new deal should give the owners a lot of lee-way on making mistakes, because they’ll likely get a 50-50 split and have no fear of blowing up their payroll.

Mannix guessed that they won’t have a deal by Monday, but they should have it by the end of next week, and get at least 75 games.
