Hall of Fame’s Brad Horn explains how he got Freese’s torn jersey

Hall of Fame's Brad Horn with David Freese after Game 6.

Hall of Fame communications director Brad Horn joined guest host Glenn Ordway to talk about David Freese’s jersey.

Horn explained that they make a quick judgment on what’s going to be important 50 years from now. Horn quickly decided the bat and the torn jersey were key. And then the player has to cooperate.

“David’s reaction was magnificent,” Horn said. “The only way we’re able to maintain baseball history is because of guys like David Freese.”

Horn said that most players are honored and want their items in the Hall of Fame. He said no one has ever told him that they were going to sell it on e-Bay instead.

Glenn asked Horn why Freese didn’t want to hold on to the bat to use in Game 7. “He has the confidence to not be beholden to any superstition,” Horn said.
