Chris Dufresne says Penn State will have a hard time rebuilding

Los Angeles Times college football writer Chris Dufresne joined the show to talk about Joe Paterno and the upcoming weekend in college football.

Dufresne talked about one of the jarring aspects of the Penn State story being the setting. He compared State College to Pleasantville. Such an idyllic setting.

Dufresne said the NCAA won’t even look at this case for a while, but it doesn’t matter. “You don’t have to worry about scholarship sanctions. Moms and Dad will take care of that.”

Dufresne thinks that it will be hard to find a coach. “I can’t imagine anybody who coached with Jerry Sandusky taking this job,” Dufresne said. He referenced Greg Schiano and Al Golden. He also said that Urban Meyer may even say Ohio State looks better than Penn State now.

Dufresne said that Oregon has a  very good chance at knocking off Stanford because of the Ducks’ speed.
