Clayton Kershaw reflects on winning Cy Young, talks about Mark Cuban and Dodgers

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw joined the show to talk about winning the Cy Young.

Kershaw said he was honored to beat Roy Halladay and thinks you could make a good argument the Phillies pitcher deserved the award.

I always think that Halladay is the best because of what he does day in and day out,” Kershaw said.

Kershaw went No. 6 in the draft and remembers the five teams who didn’t take him. The Royals, Rockies, Pirates, Mariners and Tigers all passed on him.

Kershaw commented on his future with the Dodgers. He said that he’s there for three years under his current contract, and hopefully they’ll work something out to keep him there longer. Kershaw said that he got a phone call from Frank McCourt congratulating him.

Kershaw, a huge Dallas sports fan, said that it’d be “awesome” if Mavericks owner Mark Cuban took over the Dodgers — but he’s not sure the MLB owners would let him in.
