Steve Sarkisian explains why he’d take Barkley over Luck and comments on Nick Montana

Washington Huskies quarterback Steve Sarkisian joined the show to talk about his season and much more.

Sarkisian said that Nick Montana will get his first career start this week for the Huskies.Sarkisian said that Joe Montana has been at practice twice this week, but he’ been pretty quiet.

“This isn’t about Joe,” Sarkisian said. “It’s been about Nick and deservedly so.”

But Sarkisian noted that Nick is like his dad in the sense no moment is too big for him.

Dan asked Sarkisian the best quarterback in the Pac-10. Sarkisian had trouble answering him. He said Andrew Luck and Matt Barkley didn’t have their best days against Washington.

Sarkisian talked about why he said he’d draft Barkley over Luck. “The point was I’ve known Matt Barkley since the ninth grade,” Sarkisian said. “If I were starting a team, I would draft Matt Barkley, because of how much I know about him. What he’s doing in college would fit what I would do in the NFL.”
