Tony Dungy: Colts should draft Andrew Luck; Broncos need to improve passing game
NBC’s Tony Dungy joined the show to weigh in on the Broncos’ dramatic win over the Jets and more.
— Dan asked Dungy what he thinks the Colts should do if they get the No. 1 overall pick. “I think they draft Andrew Luck and then they see how Peyton Manning is doing,” Dungy said. Dungy said if Manning is healthy in the Fall, they should consider trading Luck.
— Dungy thinks the Broncos do have flaws. “They’re going to need to find some more passing,” Dungy said. “It’s going to be problematic. To win those big games you’re going to have to complete some third-down passes.”
Dungy said Denver’s style is working. “They’re lulling people to sleep playing these low-scoring games,” Dungy said.
— Dungy thinks that Mark Sanchez is struggling and the Jets can win with him, but not because of him. Dan asked Dungy if he can win them a Super Bowl. Dungy said maybe not in the next few years, but he could. “He’s certainly as capable as Trent Dilfer and Kerry Collins and some of the people who’ve gone to a Super Bowl,” Dungy said.
