Tony Dungy on Tim Tebow, Peyton Manning and Cowboys’ mistake
NBC’s Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the big stories around the league.
— Dungy had a major issue with how the Cowboys handled the end of their loss against the Cardinals. He thinks that Dallas needed to use its last two timeouts to try to get up the field and make an easier field-goal attempt. They ended up missing a 49-yard attempt to force overtime, where Arizona scored on a long TD.
— Dungy has been a supporter of Tim Tebow all season. Now everyone else is catching up. “It’s not always pretty,” Dungy said. “But I think they’re going to win the AFC West.”
Dungy said he and Dan compared Tebow to Bill Russel over the weekend. Dungy also compared him to Drew Brees.
“His guys believe they’re going to win with Tebow, and that’s half of it,” Dungy said.
— Dungy said he thinks Peyton Manning wants to stay in Indianapolis. “I think he’s going to play for the Colts or not play,” Dungy said.
— Dungy said that Oregon coach Chip Kelly would be great in the NFL.
— Dungy thinks Matt Forte has to try to rush back so he can show his value if he can get healthy enough. But Dungy pointed out RBs have to be careful.
