Andy Staples on Penn State, juniors staying in school, split title

SI.com’s Andy Staples joined the show to talk about the big college football storylines.

Staples weighed in on Penn State reportedly hiring Bill O’Brien. “I think it was something they had to do,” Staples said. “For recruiting purposes, they needed someone who had nothing to do with what happened.”

Staples also talked about the two juniors who said they’re coming back this week. Staples thinks Montee Ball ran for so many touchdowns at Wisconsin, he’ll be fine in the NFL. Staples said that Landry Jones had to go back, because he played so poorly at the end.

Staples also said that if Alabama wins by less than a touchdown, then there will be a split-championship.
