NFL International VP Parsons says new deal doesn’t mean Rams will move to London full-time

NFL International VP Chris Parsons joined guest host Mike Florio to discuss the announcement that the NFL would send the Rams to London the next three seasons.

Florio asked Parsons if this decision means the Rams could move to London full-time.

“Absolutely not,” Parsons said. “We’ve been very explicit that this has nothing to do with any potential franchise in the UK.”

Parsons did say that they have an ambition to put a team in London one day, but they need to keep growing the popularity of the sport.

Parson said they’ve been talking about the idea of having one team go over multiple times for the last 18 months. Parsons explained it makes sense to bring over a team a few years in a row. “For the fans in the UK, there’s no way to connect to one single team,” Parsons said.

Parsons said that the Rams showed them how they could develop their fan base in London.

Florio asked if the league will have a Super Bowl in London. “At the moment it’s way out of the horizon and something that we’ve considered with any substantial depth,” Parsons said.
