Darren Rovell: Overnight Super Bowl ratings equal to last year

CNBC sports business analyst Darren Rovell joined the show to talk about the Super Bowl.

Rovell said that the overnight ratings, which are preliminary, are about the same as last year. Rovell said that when they’re all said and done, it may actually do a little bit worse than last year. Rovell isn’t sure why. Possibly because NBC put the game online as well.

Rovell also weighed in on the commercials. He thought the David Beckham underwear was effective. And he thought the Dorito ad was funny.

Rovell said that now Eli Manning is much more marketable than Peyton. He said Victor Cruz and Tom Coughlin will make some money out of this season.
