Seth Davis: Kentucky bona fide favorite of wide open field

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix joined guest host Chris Mannix to talk about the state of college hoops.

Mannix asked Davis how seriously we should take Kentucky. Davis said very seriously. “I would vote Anthony Davis as the national player of the year,” Davis said.

Davis said that Kentucky is loaded with young talent again. “If it weren’t for the fact they were so young, I don’t think anyone would doubt they’re going to win this thing,” Davis said.

Davis commented on undefeated Murray State. He said they’re very good and have a lot of seniors. He doesn’t think that they’re title contenders, but he thinks they could win a game or two in the Tournament: “Can they get to the Sweet 16 and be a tough out? Absolutely.”

Davis, however, said there’s a lot of parity right now. “In college basketball right now,” Davis said, “the world is flat.”
