Steve Kerr says big test for Knicks will be when Carmelo returns
TNT analyst and former Suns GM Steve Kerr joined the show to talk about Jeremy Lin and other big stories around the NBA.
Kerr explained how sometimes players just need the right chance, and Lin finally got it. “It kind of make you wonders how many guys are out there that slipped through the cracks,” Kerr said.
Kerr wonders how the Knicks offense will work after Carmelo Anthony returns. “I think that will be one of the most fascinating stories of the year,” Kerr said. “All of a sudden the pressure goes on Carmelo.”
Kerr said that the Knicks before the Carmelo trade was Mike D’Antoni’s type of team. When Carmelo arrived, it changed. Over the last week it’s gone back to D’Antoni’s system.
Kerr talked about how important a system was for certain players, pointing to Shawn Marion when he got hooked up with D’Antoni. Kerr himself admits he was in a system with the Bulls that helped him. “The triangle basically saved my career,” Kerr said.
