Kevin Durant on what he has in backpack, Jeremy Lin, one-and-done rule
Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant joined the show to talk about his season and more.
— Dan asked Durant what’s in the backpack he wears before and after his game. “A computer, a phone charger and a bible,” Durant said. Dan asked if there were snacks. Durant said he can’t eat before the game.
— Durant said he has the green light, but he could never get close to 100 points. He was amazed Kobe Bryant got 81 points.
— Durant talked about teams adjusting to Jeremy Lin. He said it was easier for him to handle defensive adjustments than Durant himself, because Lin is a point guard and you can’t trap a pick-and-roll.
— Durant said he likes the one-and-done rule. It worked for him, because that one year at Texas helped him grow up. He’s afraid that two years would force kids to go overseas. Durant said he doesn’t think he could have played out of high school.
— Durant commented on the Blake Griffin dunk over Kendrick Perkins. He said that the team doesn’t give Perkins humorous grief. They just don’t bring it up. Durant said that they don’t get excited over other team’s dunks.
