Wojnarowski: Nets have to move now on Dwight Howard

Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski joined the show to talk about the NBA trade deadline and more.

Wojnarowski said that the Nets have to move now for Dwight Howard if they want to make sure he’s in the fold next season.

“New Jersey has to go get him now,” Wornarowski said. “In a perfect world you would wait. But too many things can happen. If the Nets don’t do a deal with Orlando, and the Lakers do, and Dwight goes to L.A. … he could like it. There’s too many variables.”

Wojnarowski also said that Houston could make a run at Howard and Deron Williams for next season.

Wojnarowski said the Lakers are still trying to do something with Pau Gasol. They think they’re good in the low post with Andrew Bynum and can improve in other areas of need.

Wojnarowski said that Mike D’Antoni won’t last with the Knicks. He was Donnie Walsh’s guy, and New York is always looking for a “new savior.” He said it could be Phil Jackson or John Calipari next.
