Tony Dungy explains why Peyton chose Broncos

NBC NFL analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about Peyton Manning going to the Denver Broncos.

Dungy said he talked to Peyton a number of times over the last month.

“I always thought the AFC would be the winner,” Dungy said. “First, Peyton’s a creature of habit and [has] familiarity with the AFC. … And if he went to the NFC, he’d be putting out one more roadblock to Eli’s path to the Super Bowl.”

Dungy said that he wasn’t exactly sure what it was about Denver. “In the end, it was just where he was comfortable,” Dungy said.

Dungy said that it may not be a big deal that the receivers don’t look great. Because great quarterbacks make receivers look good. Dungy also said Denver’s defense is like the Colts’ defenses. It’s going to be very good if Peyton can get a lead, because they’ll harass QBs.

Dungy also weighed in on Tim Tebow’s future. Dungy admitted it’s a different situation, because you have to build a system around Tebow, who is different than other QBs.
