Ken Rosenthal doesn’t understand economics of Joey Votto deal
FOX’s Ken Rosenthal joined the show to talk about the big stories around baseball.
Rosenthal weighed in on the Reds’ huge contract with Joey Votto. “Unless I’m missing something, I don’t see how this makes sense,” Rosenthal said. “Three or four years when the player starts declining, you wonder why the Heck did my team do that?”
Rosenthal said Giants pitcher Matt Cain’s deal made sense. Rosenthal said that Cain would have made this on the open market. He said that Cain is underrated and you can’t look at win-loss record.
Rosenthal said we can expect the Los Angeles Dodgers to start spending around the trade deadline. And he said the Dodgers could possibly be a sleeper in the National League West.
