David Feherty says Tiger’s finally happy and that could help him win
Golf Channel and CBS’s David Feherty joined the show from Augusta to share his thoughts on the Masters.
Dan asked Feherty if Hank Haney’s book will motivate Tiger Woods this week. “I’m not sure he could have any more than he does [here],” Feherty said. “This is the tournament that lights his fire. In the past three or four years, when he hasn’t played well, he always gets himself into contention.”
Feherty said that he thinks Tiger is happy. He doesn’t think the swing has changed. Feherty said Tiger’s head has changed.
“People have forgotten what happens when he plays well,” Feherty said. “When he plays well, nobody else wins.”
Feherty’s darkhorse is Sergio Garcia. “I just have a feeling he’s going to have a great year,” Feherty said.
Feherty also weighed in on Rory McIlroy. He thinks Rory will put last year’s meltdown behind him quickly because he has a great perspective. And Feherty noted that McIlroy putts well on fast greens. “I would expect him to play well and probably contend,” Feherty said.
