Mike Florio says Drew Brees has conflict of interests when talking bounties

Profootballtalk.com’s Mike Florio joined the show to talk about the schedule and the latest on bounties.

Florio thinks Drew Brees and the NFLPA has a potential conflict of interests. Florio especially thinks Brees has a conflict, because he wants to protect his team. “When he comes out and says there’s no evidence of a bounty, a lot of people are rolling their eyes,” Florio said.

Florio said that the NFLPA went back and studied the game tape, and there was no evidence anyone tried to injure other players. “They’re going to argue that no one was injured,” Florio said. Florio also said there was only one “cart-off” during the time in question, and that was the Saints’ Reggie Bush.

Florio weighed in on how to make Thursday night games fair to both teams involved. “The team that’s the road team on Thursday needs a home game before, and the team that’s home needs a road game [the week before],” Florio said. He thinks the teams should have an equal amount of time to prepare.
