Clay Matthews talks about his own draft experience and what makes a great QB

Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews joined the show to talk about the draft experience and more.

Matthews said he thought he was going to New England. “Quite frankly, that’s where I thought I was going,” Matthews said. “The thing about draft day is you have to keep an open mind.”

Matthews said he heard some negative things about himself before the draft — that he was going to be a special teams player and not an every-down player. “I didn’t have your typical college career,” Matthews said. “I only started a few games my senior year.”

Matthews talked about the key to being a good quarterback. He said it’s just that sense of when to get rid of the ball.
