Bernie Miklasz says Pujols out of comfort zone
St. Louis Dispatch columnist Bernie Miklasz joined the show to talk about Albert Pujols’ struggles with the Angels.
Miklasz said Pujols had “unconditional love” from the fans in St. Louis and he fed off that. Miklasz said he likes to control his environment and he doesn’t want anything new coming his way.
“I found it so hard to believe a guy who is so determined to control his own environment … would want to start over,” Miklasz said.
Miklasz said in the past, Pujols would used any slight as motivation. But that doesn’t work when he doesn’t have the friendly ground of St. Louis behind him.
Miklasz said that the Cardinals look great now, but they have to be a bit concerned about the health histories of all their productive hitters.
