Chris Mannix says Celtics may be spent, Rondo in MVP discussion

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix joined the show to talk about the NBA Playoffs and the Draft Lottery.

Mannix defended LeBron for taking a jumper over Rajon Rondo in the final seconds of regulation in Game 2. He said LeBron had to be thinking about Rondo’s ability to move his feet, and didn’t want to commit an offensive foul.

Mannix said that Boston had to spend too much energy last night, in large part because they don’t have a bench. He said they miss backup guard Avery Bradley more than the Heat miss Chris Bosh.

“I feel like Boston left everything out on the floor last night,” Mannix said.

Mannix talked about how important Rajon Rondo is and said he put him on his MVP ballot at fourth. Here is Mannix’s MVP ballot:

1. LeBron James
2. Kevin Durant
3.  Kobe Bryant
4. Rajon Rondo
5. Chris Paul
