Ian Rapoport says Saints look bad for not signing Brees

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport joined guest host Bonnie Bernstein to talk about Drew Brees’ contract from New Orleans.

Rapoport said that yesterday Brees was shooting a Nyquil commercial in New Orleans and he’s around … even though he’s not there. Rapoport said there’s not much going on in the negotiations. “The two sides are just looking at each other,” Rapoport said.

Rapoport said Brees has extra pressure on him because of his role in the NFLPA. He can not take an undervalued deal,” Rapoport said. “He’s got to take what he’s worth.”

Rapoport said that Brees is probably worth “omewhere in the line of $20.5 million.” He said that the Saints are getting crushed and no one can understand why they’re not just finishing the deal.

Rapoport told the story of a fight at Saints OTA yesterday. He said that Chase Daniel — who had an awful practice — got in a scuffle with linebacker Curtis Lofton. Rapoport said that this could encourage the NFL to look into the physicality of the Saints practices after they penalized Seattle.
