Adam Dunn discusses his strikeouts, Stephen Strasburg, Randy Johnson
Chicago White Sox slugger Adam Dunn joined the show to talk about his season and more.
Dunn talked about some of his slumps. “When I’m going bad, I’m the worst player in the league,” Dunn said.
Dan asked if strikeouts were a concern. “Depends on when,” Dunn said. He explained that if there’s two out in the first with no one on, he’s trying to hit a home run. If there’s runners in scoring position, that’s bad.
Dunn admitted he tries to hit home runs. “I usually swing at the balls I can try to hit hard and hit out,” Dunn said.
Dunn said the most challenging pitcher he’s faced is Randy Johnson. He said that Johnson would let go of the ball and he thought he’d get hit in the back of his neck.
Dunn looked back at his days with the Nationals and had a lot of praise for Stephen Strasburg. He was impressed with how he handled himself off the field. “He’s as good as it gets,” Dunn said.
Dunn talked about his college football days at Texas. He said that he was pretty good, and debunked a report that he left to play baseball when Chris Simms came in. He said he helped recruit Simms to Texas.
