Tim Layden explains why Allyson Felix won’t bow out of 100m competition

Sports Illustrated’s Tim Layden joined the show to talk about the Allyson Felix, Jeneba Tarmoh controversy.

Layden said that as of late last night Tarmoh didn’t want to race, but U.S. Track officials are working on getting her to change her mind.

Dan asked if this wasn’t the Olympics, would we have had a winner for the race in question. “Jenebah Tarmoh would have won the race,” Layden said. He said that he talked to the replay official and he would have called it Tarmoh’s way 100 times out of 100 times.

Layden said he talked to Felix and she doesn’t want to compete in this run-off, but she will. Felix wants to be recognized as the fastest person in the world.
