Lee James comments on Chinese swimmer Shiwen, badminton controversy
BBC Olympic analyst Lee James joined the show to talk about some of the controversies in London.
James commented on controversy around Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen, noting she’s improved so dramatically, and that’s why some people have brought up the possibility of doping.
James also commented on Michael Phelps’ performance so far. “Clearly he was at his peak four years ago,” James said. “He’s not now.” But James is convinced Phelps’ legacy as the greatest is already sealed.
James also broke down the badminton controversy. Certain teams tried to lose matches to set up better quarterfinal matchups. James said the crowds quickly realized what was going on and booed. “Who wants to sit something like that?” James said.
