Cole Hamels talks about disappointing year in Philly, Strasburg pitch count

Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels joined guest host Glenn Ordway to talk about his season and new contract.

Hamels said that it wasn’t a hard decision to re-sign with Philadelphia. He likes the city and he thinks they’ve had injuries this year and should be back where they belong next year.

Glenn asked Hamels what he would have said if he had told him earlier in the year that they’d be flirting with last place at this point of the year.

“I never would have thought that in my wildest dreams,” Hamels said.

Hamels weighed in on Stephen Strasburg and whether the Nationals should limit

“You don’t want to hurt a kid,” Hamels said. “That’s where they’re at. You have to ask him — see where he’s at. He can do it. I wouldn’t put it past him.”
