Matt Barkley talks about his ability to call plays, praises his receiver

USC quarterback Matt Barkley joined the show to talk about their win over Syracuse and what’s coming next.

Barkley talked about keeping alert during the rain delay against ‘Cuse. He said it wasn’t that hard.

Dan asked Barkley how many plays he gets to call. Barkley said he’s not dry-calling any plays, he’s making checks. In the two-minute drill he can call plays. Barkley said in the red zone he can hand the ball off or throw. When it’s one-on-one on the outside with those big receivers, it’s an easy choice.

Barkley commented on his receivers Robert Wood and Marqise Lee: “They could play in the NFL right now — both talent wise and how they understand the game of football — it’s really unique.”

Barkley said he’s taking one class. “It’s all ball, all the time,” Barkley said.
