Dan Wetzel says Notre Dame has new deal with ACC for football scheduling reasons
Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel joined the show to talk about Notre Dame’s new affiliation with ACC.
“The key reason is fear over future football scheduling,” Wetzel said.
Wetzel said that this is really about football and making sure conferences didn’t start blocking them out. Now they have five ACC games and seven games to fill out their schedule. Wetzel said that makes it easier to fill out their schedule moving forward.
The Big Ten has never really interseted them,” Wetzel said. He pointed out Notre Dame isn’t unique in the Big Ten. Now they can get into the fertile recruiting grounds of the Southeast. He said that that’s were populations are growing. And in the ACC, they can play in the Northeast against B.C. and Syracuse. And Wetzel said the ACC could still grow.
