Jim Leyland talks about whether he’ll play Miguel Cabrera
Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland joined the show to weigh in on Miguel Cabrera and more.
Leyland said he’s not sure if Miguel Cabrera will play tonight. “I’m going to talk to him when he gets to the ballpark and get a feel for it,” Leyland said. Leyland said he expects to have a lot of impact, but ultimately it will be Cabrera’s decision.
But Leyland doesn’t think it’s a huge deal because Cabrera has done so much this season and whatever happens it won’t take away from his special season. “Whether he plays tonight or not, what’s the difference,” Leyland said.
Leyland said that Max Scherzer should be fine despite hurting himself in the clinching celebration.
Leyland also talked about how silly expectations are. He noted his team has been criticized all season long, but it’s ridiculous to say they underachieved because they’re in the playoffs.
