Verducci explains why Yankees may want to lower A-Rod in lineup
Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci joined the show to help break down the postseason.
Verducci thinks there’s a good reason the Yankees should consider moving Alex Rodriguez down in the lineup. He said the other night you saw A-Rod making the final out, with the team’s best hitter, Robinson Cano, watching from the on-deck circle.
“He’s not the same hitter,” Verducci said of A-Rod. “That’s the issue. How he’s looked over a long period of time.”
Verducci weighed in on the Giants and A’s and whether they can come back. He said Oakland has a better chance to win their series because the A’s are at home. He said the Giants are too challenged offensively.
Verducci agrees with Dan that there’s less than a 50 percent chance Josh Hamilton will return to Texas. Verducci said the Rangers don’t want to do a long enough contract for Hamilton.
